Clove Ai vs Money Manager: AI entry against a classic ledger

Bars of different heights standing for two expense tracker apps being compared

Clove Ai, the expense tracker app for Android, is built around typing, talking and scanning, with AI included in one subscription. Money Manager by Realbyte is a long-standing manual ledger that is free with ads, with a one-time paid version. Choose on how you like to enter data and whether you accept a subscription.

Money Manager here is the app by Realbyte Inc., listed on Google Play. It is a different product from Clove Ai, and in some ways a simpler one. We are the Clove Ai team, so check the sources yourself. We read each page on 22 October 2026.

What is the same

Both are Android apps for tracking spending, both support several currencies and both list Indonesian. Both let you fill a form by hand, and neither lists a bank connection that feeds transactions in automatically.

What differs

  • How you enter data. Money Manager is a manual ledger with bookmarks for frequent expenses, and the pages we checked do not mention AI entry. Clove Ai lets you type a sentence, talk or scan a receipt, and shows the result for you to confirm.
  • Price. Money Manager is free with ads and a 15-asset limit; a paid "Remove Ads" Android version is $5.99 once, and an optional Data Sync Service is $2.49 a month or $19.99 a year. Clove Ai is $2.99 a month or $29.99 a year with no ads and no free tier.
  • Method. Money Manager is built on double-entry bookkeeping, which suits people who think in accounts. Clove Ai thinks in a pay cycle: a Cashflow Score and what is safe to spend today.
  • Receipts. Receipt scanning is not mentioned on the Money Manager pages we checked; Clove Ai scans receipts and asks you to check each line and the total.

What a year costs

A year with Clove Ai on the yearly plan is $29.99. Money Manager can cost nothing if you accept ads, $5.99 once if you remove them, and $19.99 a year if you also want its sync service. Money Manager is the cheaper option on these numbers; the question is whether AI entry and the pay-cycle view are worth the difference to you.

A year of Clove Ai by plan: 35.88 on the monthly plan against 29.99 on the yearly plan.

Who each is best for

  • Money Manager suits you if you like a classic, no-frills ledger, accept ads or pay once to remove them, and are happy typing each line into a form.
  • Clove Ai suits you if you want to log in plain words or by photo and see one daily number for the month, and you do not mind a subscription.

Where Clove Ai is not the best fit

If you want the lowest cost, an app that works fully free, or a ledger with accounts and card settlement dates, Money Manager is a better fit. Clove Ai is also Android and web only for now, has no bank connection and has no free tier. To move over, export from Money Manager (its Play listing mentions backup files in Excel format) and import a CSV into Clove Ai, which shows every row before saving.
